We hate to jump to conclusions, and last year’s season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers taught us that we never should. However, there is a very good chance that the Nebraska football team could start out on a very good winning streak before entering the Wisconsin game in Week 8.
Last year, the season was rough for the Huskers. They lost a total of 7 games, with 5 games being decided by 5 points or less. However, they did have a big upset against Michigan State (39-38) who was then undefeated at the time and later went on to the College Football Playoffs.
This year the Cornhuskers began the season with a 3-0 start, just coming off a crucial win against the Oregon Ducks. Their next few opponents should be much easier. Here’s the schedule of their next four games:
Entering into the Wisconsin game, the Nebraska football team should be undefeated, with a 7-0 start going into week 8. Last year, teams that were undefeated in week 8 included Iowa (7-0) who started out the season unranked, just like the Nebraska Cornhuskers this year. In fact, there were 3 teams last year in the Top Ten in week 8 that had a loss (Alabama, Stanford, and Notre Dame).
It’s very possible that the Nebraska Cornhuskers could start out on a hot streak. But as we know from last year, the season can be very unpredictable.
