Dear Students,

We are disappointed in today’s decision regarding DACA but are supporting our students and call upon Congress to address this issue as soon as possible.  Fort Hays State University has had a long history of supporting students with accessible quality education. We believe in fulfilling our mission of developing engaged global citizen-leaders through a diverse community of learners.  We have and will continue to assist all students of our community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Andy Tompkins

Interim President

Fort Hays State University

President Trump has come under fire from both sides of the aisle for ending DACA, although he has given congress until March 8, 2018 to create a replacement for it. The DACA program started five years ago to help out 800,000 individuals that came to the United States as children. You can read more about the issue here.
