A screening for #LegendsNeverDie will take place this Friday, December 16th at 2 p.m. on the campus of Fort Hays State University, just in time for the Hays socialite and social media celebrity Brandon Towery’s Birthday.
Towery died unexpectedly on February 15, 2016 due to a blood clot passing through his heart.
“He was somebody that could bring everyone together,” Dillon McConney, a long time friend of Towery’s said, “It didn’t matter what you were into or who you hung out with. He just drew everyone together.”
McConney is featured in the documentary along with Austin Seltmann, Phillip Compton, Ryan Downing, Drew Kingsburry, KaeCee Schwartzkopf, and Brandon’s mother Charlotte Towery.
The group tells the story of a young man whose larger than life personality united a community with laughter and happiness. Towery ultimately unites them all for one last time when his dreams of fame come true.
The documentary is a Leader Digital Web Magazine production presented by FHSU’s Department of Informatics.
The screening is in the Stouffer Lounge of the Memorial Union, room 222 and is sponsored by the FHSU Chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success. The event is open to the public. The film’s runtime is around 15 minutes. Attendees will be invited to share memories of the Hays legend.
